میڈیا رپورٹوں کے مطابق دہلی میں ادیوگ بھون کے سامنے گول چوراہے پر واقع تاریخی “سنہری مسجد” یا “سنہری باغ مسجد” کو شہید کئے جانے کی تیاری کی جا رہی ہے۔
بتایا جاتا ہے کہ اس علاقے میں ٹریفک کی آسانی کے لیے مسجد کو شہید کیا جانا ہے۔ موصولہ رپورٹ کے مطابق اس علاقے کو سینٹرل وسٹا پراجیکٹ کے تحت نئی شکل دی جا رہی ہے اس لیے آنے والے دنوں میں یہاں کے ٹریفک میں اضافہ ہوگا۔ ادیوگ بھون کے سامنے کا یہ علاقہ (جہاں مذکورہ مسجد واقع ہے) سیکورٹی کے نقطۂ نظر سے بھی بہت اہم ہے۔ مرکزی حکومت کے دفاتر کے ساتھ ساتھ یہ دفاعی افواج کے اعلیٰ عہدیداروں کے دفاتر کے قریب بھی ہے۔

نئی دہلی میونسپل کونسل (این ڈی ایم سی) کا کہنا ہے کہ علاقے کو ٹریفک کے نقطۂ نظر سے بہتر بنایا جائے گا۔ اطلاعات کے مطابق این ڈی ایم سی نے عوام سے اس سلسلے میں رائے طلب کی ہے۔ اپنے عوامی نوٹس میں، این ڈی ایم سی نے ٹریفک آپریشنز کو بہتر بنانے کے لیے ٹریفک پولیس کے خط کا بھی ذکر کیا ہے۔ این ڈی ایم سی کے مطابق یہاں بڑھتے ٹریفک کو دیکھتے ہوئے ٹریفک پولیس کے ساتھ دو مرتبہ مشترکہ معائنہ کیا گیا ہے۔ جس علاقے میں سنہری مسجد واقع ہے وہ انتظامی لحاظ سے این ڈی ایم سی کے تحت آتا ہے۔ سنہری مسجد تقریباً 150 سال پرانی ہے اور تاریخی نوعیت سے اہمیت کی حامل ہے۔
