خبر رساں ایجنسی یونہاپ نے فوجی ذرائع کے حوالے سے رپورٹ کیا ہے کہ امریکی افواج کوریا (یو ایس ایف کے) کے زیر انتظام ایک ایف سولہ لڑاکا طیارہ یلو سمندر کے اوپر تربیتی مشق کے دوران گر کر تباہ ہو گیا۔ رپورٹ میں کہا گیا ہے کہ یہ واقعہ مقامی وقت کے مطابق صبح ٩ بجے کے قریب ملک کے مغربی ساحل پر شمالی جیولا صوبے کے شہر گنسن کے قریب پیش آیا۔ اس حادثے کے دوران جنگی طیارے کا پائلٹ باہر نکل گیا اور اسے سمندر میں بچا لیا گیا۔ خبر کی کوئی سرکاری تصدیق فوری طور پر دستیاب نہیں ہے. ایف سولہ تقریباً ٣٠ میں سے ایک ہے جو امریکہ کے ٨ ویں فائٹر ونگ کا حصہ ہیں، جو کنسان ایئر بیس کو جنوبی کوریا کے فوجی اثاثوں کے ساتھ شیئر کرتا ہے۔
