کمزور پر پورا سچ بولنے کی ہمیشہ پابندی رہی ہے, ہم فکری اعتبار سے مفلوج ومفلوک لوگ اپنی خود ساختہ منزل کے سامنے آن کھڑے ہوئے ہیں۔
اب سوچنے اور بولنے پر بھی پابندیاں عائد ہیں یا پھر کمزور کی آواز بے اثر ہے ۔
آج مکارکسی بھی حقیقت کو رد کرنے کی عامیانہ ہمت تو رکھتا ہے مگر ہر طریقے سے وطن عزیز کو ترقی پذیر ممالک کی فہرست سے نکلوانے کی بھونڈی کوشش کر رہا یے –
اب تو ایسا لگتا ہے کہ نہ ہی پاکستان کا مسئلہ سیاسی ہے اور نہ ہی معاشی, بلکہ لوگ ذہنی پستی اوراخلاقی گراوٹ کا اجتماعی شکار ہیں۔
بظاہر نتیجہ یہ نکلا کہ ہم شدید نوعیت کے تضادات کا شکار ہو چکے ہیں۔ میں مثال نہیں دینا چاہتا کیونکہ اپنے عیب لکھنے سے خود انسان کو تکلیف ہوتی ہے۔ لیکن ہمارے معاشرے کی آخری لڑائی شروع ہو چکی ہے۔ اس کے نتیجہ میں یا تو ہمیں مجبوراً تبدیل ہونا پڑے گا۔ ورنہ ہم تاریخ کی قربان گاہ پر فطری انجام کو پہنچ جائیں گے۔ آخری مغل باد شاہ بہادر شاہ ظفر کی تاریخی بے بسی اور لال قلعہ کی سازش زدہ راہداریاں آنکھ کھولے بغیر بھی نظر آ رہی ہیں۔ آخری قہقہہ کون لگائے گا؟ اس اَمر کو سمجھنا اب نہایت آسان ہو چکا ہے۔
مجھے ایک سوال کا جواب نہیں مل پاتا , پاکستان بنتے ہوئے انسانوں کی جو نسل موجود تھی، وہ جوہری اعتبار سے اتنی مختلف کیوں تھی؟ آج وہ تمام لوگ مٹی اوڑھے سو رہے ہیں۔ آپ عصرِ حاضر کے لوگوں کو کمپیوٹر، انٹرنیٹ، گوگل اور سوشل میڈیا کے اسلحہ سے لیس بھی کر ڈالیے۔ پھر بھی وہ نسل جو پاکستان بنتے ہوئے حیاتی طور پر موجود تھی، اتنی زیادہ جاندار اور ذہنی اعتبار سے اس قدر متحرک کیسے تھی؟ یہ کسی ایک شعبہ کا مسئلہ نہیں۔ مجھے پرانے لوگ تمام شعبوں میں زیادہ باصلاحیت نظر آتے ہیں۔
کیا آج پاکستان کی عدلیہ کا چیف جسٹس، کسی مفلس کا کیس سنے گا اور کسی غریب کو خوش آمدید کہے گا, کسی غریب کو چائے کی دعوت دے گا؟کیا کسی صوبہ کا گورنر اور وزیر اعلی ، ریلوے ٹرین کے پھاٹک پر گاڑی رکنے اور ریل گاڑی کے گزرنے کا انتظار کریں گے؟۔ کیا سول انتظامیہ کے سینئر افسر سائیکل یا تانگہ پر دفتر جائے گا ؟۔آپ بیورو کریسی کے ریگستان میں سفر کیجیے تو آپ کو کرپشن کے ناسور میں ملوث زدہ بد کردار آفسر نظر آئیں گے ۔ جتنا کم بولا یا لکھا جائے، اتنا ہی بہتر ہے۔ مختصر جمہوری سفر میں کئی بیورو کریٹ سیاستدانوں سے زیادہ امیر نکلیں گے –
کیا یہ حقیقت سرکاری ملازم کی حیثیت سے قابل فخر ہے کہ ہمارے سابقہ وزرائے اعظم کے متعدد وزیر اور سیکریٹریز متعدد مقدمات میں ملوث پائے گئے ہیں۔ سعادت حسن منٹو کہاں اور کب پیدا ہوا۔ اس کی کوئی اہمیت نہیں ہے۔ قابل ذکر پہلو یہ ہے کہ صرف بیالیس سال کی طبعی عمر میں اس نے لازوال ادب تخلیق کر ڈالا۔ اس کی قلمی اور فنی عظمت سے کوئی روگردانی نہیں کر سکتا۔ تقسیم کے فسادات نے منٹو پر گہرا اثر ڈالا۔ ہندو مسلم فسادات میں اس نے انسان کے چھپے ہوئے درندے کو باہر نکل کر دھاڑتے ہوئے دیکھا۔ اس کی حقیقت پسندی نے ہر وہ مقدس بت توڑا جو لوگوں کے لیے پرستش کے قابل تھا۔
اس نے انسان کو بحیثیت انسان متعارف کروایا۔ ایک جگہ تنقید کا جواب دیتے ہوئے اس نے سادہ سی بات کی۔ “اگر آپکو میری لکھی ہوئی کہانیاں خراب معلوم ہوتیں ہیں، تو آپکو سوچنا چاہیے کہ یہ جس معاشرے میں جنم لیتی ہیں وہ خراب ہو چکا ہے”۔ حلقہ ارباب ذوق کے سالانہ تقریب میں سعادت حسن منٹو نے اپنی شہرہ آفاق کہانی”ٹوبہ ٹیک سنگھ” زبانی پڑھ کر سنائی۔ اس وقت اس کے بال سفید ہو چکے تھے۔ کثرت بلا نوشی سے جلد کا رنگ زرد تھا۔  وائی‘ایم‘سی‘اے کی تقریب میں منٹو نے یہ کہانی بھر پور صوتی تاثرات کے ساتھ بیان کی۔ جب کہانی ختم ہوئی تو ہال میں مکمل خاموشی تھی۔ سامعین کی آنکھوں میں آنسو تھے۔
منٹو مال روڈ کے مشہور کیفے، پاک ٹی ہاؤس میں اکثر آتا تھا۔ ایک مقدمہ کی پیروی کرتے ہوئے اس نے جج سے کہا” ایک لکھاری صرف اس وقت اپنا قلم اٹھاتا ہے جب اسے شدید ذہنی اذیت دی جاتی ہے” ۔ کیا ہماری آج کی نسل کے پاس منٹو جیسا کوئی بھی لکھاری ہے؟مشتاق احمد یوسفی طنز و مزاح کے زریعے تمام عمر ذہنی مفلوج معاشرے پر اکیلے ہنستے رہے-
کیا  فزکس کی پیچیدہ اور سنگلاخ کائنات میں ڈاکٹر عبد السلام کو نوبل پرائز کسی سفارش پر دیا گیا تھا؟یہ لوگ کون تھے؟یہ ہمارے جیسے معاشرہ میں زندہ رہنے کے باوجود ہمارے جیسے کیوں نہیں تھے! یہ ہم سے اتنے مختلف کیوں تھے! اگر تخلیقی قوتیں خداداد ہیں تو کیا یہ سلسلہ اب ختم ہو چکا ہے! کیا قدرتی صلاحیتوں کے چشمے سے ٹھنڈا پانی اب صرف رِس رِس کر آ رہا ہے! کیا تمام سہولتیں بہم ہوتے ہوئے بھی ذہن بنجر ہو چکے ہیں! کیا ہمارے آج کے منافقانہ نظام نے ہمارے تخیل کو قید کر ڈالا ہے! کیا ہمارے ملک کی پہلی نسل تخلیقی اعتبار سے ہماری آخری نسل تھی –
