انتہائی عجیب اور مزاحیہ صورت حال میں ایک شرابی یوکرینی بکتر بند گاڑی کے ڈرائیور نے غلطی سے فوجیوں کو روسی اڈے تک پہنچا دیا جس کی وجہ سے وہ پکڑے گئے۔
ایک گرفتار یوکرینی فوجی الیگزینڈر گریاڈیل نے بتایا کہ وہ روسی افواج کے ہتھے چڑھ گیا جب ایک نشے میں دھت بکتر بند ڈرائیور نے غلطی سے اسے اور یوکرینی فوجیوں کے ایک گروپ کو روسی سائٹ پر پہنچا دیا تھا۔

قیدی نے مزید کہا کہ “ہمیں 10 ستمبر کو رات 12 بجے کے قریب ’نوومایورسکی‘ کے علاقے کے مقامات پر منتقل کیا گیا تھا۔ ہمارا مشن خود کو خندق میں کھڑا کرنا، اس کا دفاع کرنا اور روسی فوج کو اس تک پہنچنے سے روکنا تھا۔ ہم بیٹھ گئے۔ دوپہر کو ایک بکتر بند گاڑی آئی اور ہمیں لے گئی”۔ وہاں ایک ہلاک اور کچھ زخمی تھے اور ہم مستقل حراستی مقام تک پہنچنے کا انتظار کر رہے تھے، لیکن ہمارا ڈرائیور نشے میں تھا۔ اس نے کہا کہ وہ اپنا راستہ بھول گیا ہے اور ہمیں براہ راست روسی فوجیوں کے ہاتھ میں پہنچا دیا۔

نشے میں دھت ڈرائیور کے ساتھ روس کے ہاتھ میں چلے جانے والے قیدی نے مزید کہا کہ “کچھ دن پہلے اسی ڈرائیور نے ایک گروپ کو لا کر بارودی سرنگوں کے میدان میں چھوڑ دیا تھا‘‘
