روسکوسموس نے مستقبل کے روسی مداری اسٹیشن (آر و ایس) کے ابتدائی ڈیزائن کی منظوری دے دی ہے۔ جاری بیان میں کہا گیا ہے کہ روس کے مداری اسٹیشن کے ابتدائی ڈیزائن کو ریاستی کارپوریشن روسکوسموس سے منظوری مل گئی ہے۔ روسکوسموس اور مرکزی ٹھیکیدار اسٹیشن کی تعمیر کے لیے حکومتی معاہدوں کو مکمل کرنے کے عمل میں ہیں۔

روسکوسموس نے یاد دلایا کہ خلا کے مدار میں چوکی روس کے قومی خلائی پروگرام کے اڈے کے طور پر کام کرے گی جب بین الاقوامی خلائی اسٹیشن (آئی ایس ایس) اپنی زندگی کا دور ختم کر دے گا۔ اسٹیشن کے بنیادی ماڈیول میں ایڈ آن ماڈیولز کو ایڈجسٹ کرنے کے لیے چھ ڈاکنگ پورٹس ہوں گے۔ اگر ضروری ہو تو اسٹیشن کے ہر ماڈیول کو تبدیل کیا جا سکے گا، لہذا آر و ایس کی سروس لائف کئی دہائیوں تک رہنے کا امکان ہے۔ اسٹیشن قطبی مدار میں رہے گا جس کا جھکاؤ ٩٧ ڈگری تک ہوگا۔ اس روسی ساختہ خلائی اسٹیشن کی تعیناتی جیسا کہ پہلے بتایا گیا تھا ٢٠٢٧ اور ٢٠٣٢ کے درمیان ہوگی.
