مجسمہ بنانے و الے آرٹسٹ لیوک پیری نے اپنے خیالات کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ‘حجاب کی طاقت’ ایک ایسا مجسمہ ہے جو ان خواتین کی نمائندگی کرتا ہے جو اسلامی عقیدے کے مطابق حجاب پہنتی ہیں اور یہ اس لیے بھی ضروری ہے کیونکہ یہ ہماری کمیونٹی کا ایک کم نمائندگی والا لیکن اہم حصہ ہے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ انہوں نے یہ مجسمہ مسلم خواتین کے ساتھ مل کر بنایا ہے۔
لیوک نے اپنے خدشات ظاہر کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ یہ مجسمہ تنازع کا باعث بھی بن سکتا لیکن برطانیہ میں رہنے والے لوگوں کی نمائندگی کرنا بھی ضروری ہے۔
