روس کے وزیر دفاع سرگئی شوئیگو نے کہا کہ یوکرینی افواج نے سال کے آغاز سے ٨٠٠٠٠ سے زیادہ فوجیوں کو کھو دیا ہے، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ روسی فوج “دشمن کی جنگی صلاحیت” کو کم کرنا جاری رکھے ہوئے ہے۔ جنوری سے اب تک ١٤٠٠٠ سے زیادہ فوجی ہارڈویئر کو روسی افواج نے تباہ کیا ہے جن میں ١٢٠٠ ٹینک اور دیگر بکتر بند جنگی گاڑیاں بھی شامل ہیں۔ شوئیگو نے کہا کہ اسی عرصے کے دوران، ماسکو نے روس کے ٤٠٣ مربع کلومیٹر کے نئے علاقوں کو آزاد کرایا ہے۔
