سماجی رابطے کی ویب سائٹ ایکس (ٹوئٹر) پر معروف بھارتی اداکارہ پائل گھوش نے ورلڈ کپ میں محمد شامی شاندار کارکردگی دیکھ کر لکھا کہ ’شامی میں تم نے شادی کے لیے تیار ہوں، بس اپنی انگریزی سدھار لو۔‘

سال 2014 میں محمد شامی نے ماڈل حسین جہاں سے شادی کی تھی تاہم مارچ 2018 میں انکی اہلیہ نے سسرال والوں اور شوہر پر تشدد کا الزام لگاتے ہوئے کہا تھا کہ شامی نے مجھے جان سے مارنے کی بھی کوشش کی، بعدازاں دونوں میں علیحدگی ہوگئی تھی۔
قبل ازیں میگا ایونٹ میں شاندار پرفارمنس کا مظاہرہ کرنے پر مقامی میڈیا چینل نے انکی اہلیہ حسین جہاں کا انٹرویو لیا تھا جو سوشل میڈیا پر وائرل ہوگیا تھا، جس میں انکی اہلیہ کا کہنا تھا کہ شامی اگر اچھی کارکردگی کا مظاہرہ کر رہا ہے، اچھا کھیل رہا ہے اور اور اچھی کمائی کر رہا ہے تو ہمارا مستقبل محفوظ ہوجائے گا۔
انٹرویو کے دوران اینکر نے فاسٹ بولر کو نیک خواہشات بھیجنے کو کہا تو حسین جہاں نے کہا تھا کہ ’’میں ٹیم انڈیا کو اپنی نیک خواہشات ضرور بھیجوں گی لیکن شامی کو نہیں!‘‘۔
